If you only skimmed the latest jobs report, you may have missed some concerning stats. 📊 Let’s take a closer look at what’s inside. ⏬

Here’s Five Fast Facts on current employment trends:

  1. ✂️ Deep Cuts - In the first four months of 2025, things weren’t so bad. We were averaging around 122,000 new jobs a month. But then, the script got flipped. Between May and November, we only averaged 32,000 a month.
  2. 👩🏻‍⚕️ Hellooooo Nurse - Almost all of the last two months’ private sector job growth was only in two sectors: social services and healthcare. Home health care aides and nursing home jobs had the biggest growth in November.
  1. 👎 Biggest Loser - Government employment had the most losses this year, but business services jobs took a big hit, too. That sector experienced an 80,000-job decline. And even with the current administration’s promises to revamp manufacturing, 63,000 jobs were lost.
  1. 📈 Troubling Trend - Over the last several months, black unemployment outpaced the overall joblessness rate. Black unemployment reached a yearly low of 6% back in May, but by November, it was up to 8.3%. Between May and November, U.S. unemployment jumped by 0.4%, but black unemployment rose 2.3%.
  1. 💸 Teen Machine - Teen unemployment is also way up. It jumped from 13.2% in September to 16.3% in November. It hasn’t been that high since the Covid days.
