America’s Quiet Manufacturing Boom

America is having a manufacturing moment! Factories are cranking, construction crews are building more factory-related projects, and billions of dollars are flowing into American production. After decades of hearing that everything was made somewhere else, somebody finally found the “Made in USA” button again, and we're here for it!

‍

Here are Five Fast Facts on America's quiet manufacturing boom:

  1. 📈 Going Up - The biggest gauge of production activity, the ISM Manufacturing Index, has expanded for months, hitting a 4-year high in June and still hovering close to that as of August. Manufacturing employment also keeps climbing, spawning high-paying jobs at a rapid clip.
  1. 😀 Happy Numbers - Manufacturers contribute $3 trillion a year to the economy and employ nearly 13 million workers. The factory floor is much more active than your garage treadmill!
  1. 😎 Bringing It Home - Driving this boom is a mix of fair and reciprocal trade policies (with both friends and foes), lighter regulations, an aggressive energy push, and a flood of capital that suddenly decided America is the place to build.
  1. 🏭 Making Stuff - Speaking of building stuff, factories aren't exactly returnable, so these companies are making long-term bets on actually producing things here instead of merely producing PowerPoint presentations about producing things.
  1. 🔍 Looking Ahead - The future outlook looks shiny in the best possible way. Overseas investment hit $232 billion last year (up 50%) with future commitments reaching $321.4 billion, while factory-related construction jobs are growing ten times faster than in 2024.

🔥Bottom line: Factories are suddenly the cool kids again, and delivering paychecks accordingly! Manufacturing is making a good ol' American comeback, and it's bringing construction, investment, and jobs along for the ride. We'll take every bit of it!
