Battle of the Sexes: Economic Feelings Edition

Did you hear about the husband who read that women use 30,000 words a day and men only use 15,000? 🗣️ She told him well, of course that’s the case…women have to repeat everything to men. To which hubby replied…”what?” 😑

Who feels better about the economy, our sisters from other misters or brothers from other mothers? 🧐 A bunch of surveys spilled the tea and we’re serving it up on a silver paycheck platter.

Here’s Five Fast Facts on how men and women experience the economy:

  1. 😴 Dream Weaver - In the words of George Carlin, they call it the American dream because you gotta be asleep to believe it! One survey revealed that while 33% of men think they can make the American dream a reality, only 25% of women thought the same.
  1. 🛒 Til You Drop - Not only do women believe in the American dream a little less, they also report experiencing more price increases while they’re out shopping. Roughly 37% of women say they’ve had a hard time paying for essentials compared to 31% of men.
  1. 💰 Savings Struggles - When it comes to emergency savings, 30% of women report having an empty piggy bank compared to 18% of men. Women are also more likely to pay higher out-of-pocket medical expenses and hold roughly two thirds of U.S. student debt.
  1. 👷🏽‍♂️ Wage Rage - Sure, chicks may be climbing the corporate ladder, but they’re still making less than dudes. According to 2023 Census Bureau data, women who work full-time all year make 83 cents for every dollar men make. Full-time working moms also made 35% less than fathers in 2024.
  2. 🧠 Knowledge Is Power - Men tend to also have stronger financial knowledge than women. One survey showed that 50% of men report getting a strong financial education growing up compared to 42% of women. Don’t gatekeep, fellas. The ladies are listening.

🔥Bottom line: Whether you’re a girl’s girl, one of the boys, or something in between, good financial habits are for everyone. With a little savvy planning and know-how, you can take control of your money and make it work for you. What’s better than sweet revenge? Revenge saving! That’s right, socking your hard earned money away in the name of spite is the name of the game. Don’t believe us? Get your rear in gear and read this article
