For Some PA Residents, Gas Bills May Get Cheaper

It’s gettin’ cold in here…so put on all your clothes…or whatever Nelly said. 🤷🏻‍♂️🎶 If you like that jam, we’ve got more ice cold remixes where that came from!

As winter moves in and we swap the AC for the cozy heat, we’re also prepping for winter utility bills. ♨️ If you’re in PA, you could get a break.

Here’s Five Fast Facts PA’s natural gas prices:

  1. ⛽ Give It Some Gas - Cheaper gas (the utility kind) is on the way for some Pennsylvanians as of November 1. According to the latest quarterly adjustment by National Fuel, residential customers should see the new rates reflected in their bills soon.
  2. 🎬 Cut Scene - How much of a cut are we talking? Not much, but it all  depends on how much gas you use. Residential customers who have an annual usage rate of 96,500 cubic feet of gas will see their monthly bill go down from $87.78 to $85.77.
  3. 📉 Cheap Thrills - Why the decrease in price? According to National Fuel, we can thank lower market prices. Another adjustment could also be on the table in early February. The next opportunity to adjust charges will be on Feb. 1, 2026.
  1. 🥶 Chilly Willy - In other utility news, the government shutdown is impacting PA’s Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). Because it’s funded by DHS, the opening of this year’s season has been pushed to December 3.
  1. 🌡️ Cozy Costs - Through the LIHEAP program, approved residents get funding sent directly to their home utility company or heating fuel provider. This ensures their bills are paid and the heat stays on throughout the winter.

🔥Bottom line: If you’re having trouble paying your gas bill, National Fuel might be able to help. Give them a call at 1-800-365-3234 for more info. The current government shutdown is freezing a lot more than LIHEAP. Small business owners in need of loans are out of luck too at the moment. In this article, we cover the latest.
