We’re about to get a new commercial facility that turns dairy farm waste into renewable biofuel for trucks and jets! That’s no bull!
Here’s Five Fast Facts on the New UW Biofuel Facility:
- 💩 Straight Poop - It’s part of the Dairyland Farm in New Franken. The facility will produce around 750,000 gallons a year and is perfect for vehicles that can’t be electrified. And they just broke ground on Halloween. In a missed opportunity no one was dressed as a turd.
- 🚗 Howdy Doody - The process involves running (heh) the waste through a digester that removes pathogens, reduces the smell and transforms the nutrients into biogas. The biogas is converted to liquid and boom! You’ve got diesel fuel that is cleaner than one of your farts.
- 🐮 Information Dump - Representatives say it’s possible to convert food waste and even human waste. But don’t go squatting at the facility yet. They have a long way to go, so get a newspaper.
- 🐄 Holy Cr@p! - The $20M facility is the result of a partnership between UW Oshkosh and Agra Energy out of California. Three UW graduates have been hired, with a third in the pipeline.
- ⛽ Flush With Excitement - And here’s some music to the ears of the EV haters out there: they plan to start research working on ways to create biofuel gasoline through the process. You’ll get to drive like an a-hole, but your car won’t smell like one!
🔥Bottom line: Imagine if America’s Dairyland became the solution to the renewable energy problem. You can bet that a lot of people will poop their pants over this. You can bet if this facility is successful, UW will open others across the state. It’s also a fantastic answer to quiet the rage that comes from EVs.
Would you drive a vehicle powered by poop?
