Gas Under $3?! Could Be a Christmas Miracle!

If you've been cruising around town lately, you've probably noticed gas prices dropping. 📉⛽ You may have also noticed some of your neighbors' terrible outdoor holiday decor. Hey, we're not judging! But we would love to see pics. 👀🌲

Gas prices are dropping so low, we might even see them under three bucks before Christmas! Now, all you'll have to worry about on your holiday road trip is coming up with a great excuse to leave the in-laws' house early. 😅🚀

 

Here’s Five Fast Facts on the current state of gas prices:

  1. ⏬ Sugar, We're Goin' Down - The average price of a gallon of regular is now $3.47 across the nation. The day Russia invaded Ukraine (February 24th), it was at $3.54.
  2. 🎢 Highs and Lows - The average gas price in the US is now down by $1.55. Prices hit a wild record high of $5.02 a gallon in June.
  3. 🎁 Best Present Ever - Some experts say the national average for gasoline could drop to $3.28 by Christmas. If that happens, gas will officially be cheaper this year than it was last year.
  4. ⛽ Yeah, Buddy! - The popular smartphone app GasBuddy predicts prices at the pump could drop below $3 a gallon by the time Santa arrives. Woohoo!
  5. 🍦 So, What's the Scoop? - Lately, gas has been falling for a bunch of reasons. Folks fear an upcoming recession and people are spooked about China's new COVID lockdowns, which affects energy prices. There have also been fewer disruptions than predicted to oil flows over in Russia. Biden also released a bunch of oil from our reserves.
