Joke time! 🤹 Did you hear the one where a pair of jumper cables walk into a bar? The bartender says, OK I’ll serve you but you better not start anything. 🔌😅
When you’re done laughing, we’ve got some good news about gas prices. 🗞️ In Ohio (and elsewhere), they’re goin’ down like Lindsey Lohan after one too many in the club. 🤪 Let’s talk about it!
Here’s Five Fast Facts on Ohio’s gas prices:
- ⛽ Dip It Low - In case you missed it, last week, Ohio experienced a drop in gas prices. The dip in the Buckeye State and 40 others is helping bring the national average to three bucks…and we’re pretty close!
- 📉 Down Under - The app GasBuddy surveyed 500 gas stations in the Columbus area. They found that gas prices dropped an average of 25.2 cents and were at an average price of $2.77. That’s 15.8 cents lower than the previous survey roughly a month ago and over 42 cents lower than last year.
- 🚗 The Price is Right - GasBuddy found the cheapest gas station in the Columbus area clocked in at $2.22 a gallon. The priciest find was 97 cents more at $3.19 a gallon. Statewide, the average gas price dropped 21.3 cents from $2.97 to $2.76 a gallon.
- 💰 On Trend - Could we see the national average gas price drop below $3? Some experts say yes. Thanks to oil prices dropping below $60 a barrel and other states experiencing declining costs, this trend may stick.
- 🛢️ The Backstory - Why is gas getting cheaper? We can thank the trade war with China, new tariff threats, and increased oil production. Hey, if we can’t get a break on groceries or utilities, we’ll take it at the pump.
🔥Bottom line: Wherever you may roam across the Buckeye State, we hope your journey is full of cheap gas stations…and yummy rest stop snacks. You might know that countries experience recessions, but what about states? Head here to find out which states are in the red (or close to it).
