Some may think of Nebraska as farmland from end to end, but we know that’s not the case. Obviously, farming is key here, but we’ve got plenty of business jobs, too, and it pays (literally) to check out the options. Let’s take a look at jobs that are listed as “business and financial operations occupations” to see which ones are the best.
Here are Five Fast Facts on the highest paying business jobs in Lincoln:
- 👍 Easiest To Land - A job’s salary doesn’t really matter if you can’t get it. So what’s the most common job on the list in Lincoln? The winner is a tie between accountants and auditors. The annual salary is $68k, but it’s about 19% below the national average. A similar job might be better: compliance officer, with an average salary of $73k and only 4% below national average.
- 💵 Most Exclusive - If exclusivity is your thing, consider being a financial examiner. There are only a couple dozen of these in Lincoln, so you’re keeping sparse company. Of course, with an average salary of $60k that is 38% below the national average, your peers may not be the only thing sparse about you.
- 😱 Most Unique - We’re particularly intrigued by the Financial Risk Specialist. Not only does it sound vaguely exciting (like a cover job in a James Bond movie), but it’s also interesting that its $68k salary is 39% lower than the national average. Isn’t working for almost half the national average pay pretty risky all by itself…?
- 🥇 Highest Compared To National - The best Nebraska salary relative to the rest of the nation is credit counselor. With an average salary of $70k, this one is 39% above the national average. We’re choosing not to infer too much about why they get paid so well here.
- 💰 The Highest - Personal financial advisors top the list of highest paying business jobs in Lincoln. The average salary is around $137k, which is 14% higher than the national average. Sounds like they’re applying their expertise to their own situations…and winning!
🔥Bottom line: Overall, Nebraska is 29th in the nation for average income level. So, it’s not surprising that a lot of these jobs are lower than the national average. But…we also have the 19th lowest average cost of living, so dollars here go further than in most other places! The point is, there are good jobs to be had no matter what your background or where you live, and that’s a great thing!
