Hot Dog! Salm Partners Chews On Alabama Facility Relocation

The town of Denmark has the makings of a sausage party on its hands. Hot dog manufacturer Salm Partners is considering relocating its Alabama facility to Denmark, further expanding their existing operations.

Here’s Five Fast Facts About Salm Partners’ Relocation Efforts:

  1. 🌭100% Grade-A - Salm Partners is the country’s largest co-manager of sausage and hot dogs. They’ve been in Denmark for 18 years now. Their factory already employs 700 people in the area. That’s a lot of meat in one place.
  2. 🧅Jumbo Franks - Their facilities measure a combined 200,000 square feet across three locations: two in the state and one in Alabama.
  3. 🍖Stuffed Sausage- The relocation would add more production lines and create 193 jobs over the next three years, but Salm estimates the project could create a total of 335 new jobs.
  4. 🐀All Natural - Salm’s most recent facility was completed with a $35M tax credit from the Wisconsin Economic Development Council (WEDC). Salm is eligible for another credit of $950,000 in three years. The credit is conditional, so if they don’t fill the jobs, they don’t get the money. Pretend I just made a Foxconn reference and laugh.
  5. 🔥Slow Cooked - The expansion is expected to create over $1M in income tax revenue over five years.

🔥Bottom line: More jobs, new business, and more money? That’s a combination that goes together like ketchup and mustard on a hot dog. Maybe onions and relish. Nothing like that garbage they put on their dogs in Chicago. But I digress. WEDC has really been on the ball attracting new business from all over the country, and that means only good things for the state.
