Here’s five of PA's best small towns to visit:
- 🧳 New Hope - Located right on the Delaware River, New Hope is a charming little town full of fun things to get into. The town has art museums, theaters, and live music. See a show at the Bucks County Playhouse and book a dinner reservation at one of the many eateries on Main Street. Don't forget to check out the antique shops and boutiques!
- 🚞 Jim Thorpe - Nestled in the Pocono Mountains, the town of Jim Thorpe is well-known for its Victorian-style buildings and breathtaking scenery. Once a bustling coal mining community, the town is also named after Olympic athlete Jim Thorpe. Learn more about the town's unique history at the Old Mauch Chunk Museum & Cultural Centre. Explore the great outdoors on a train trip or trail walk through the Lehigh Gorge Trail.
- 🏞️ Stroudsburg - Also located in the Pocono Mountains is the super-cute small town of Stroudsburg. The town is located right near the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area which has plenty of hiking trails and places to swim, bike, and fish. After you spend the day on the trail, make your way downtown and enjoy Stroudsburg's stores, galleries, and restaurants.
- 🛶 Ohiopyle - More than just a funny name, Ohiopyle is a charming little spot within Pennsylvania's Laurel Highlands region. Ohiopyle State Park is home to impressive waterfalls and forests, and the famous Youghiogheny River runs around the town. Adventurers can take advantage of the area's white water rafting, rock climbing, and kayaking. Architecture buffs take note: Ohiopyle is home to two Frank Lloyd Wright creations: Kentuck Knob and Fallingwater.
- 🌄 Wellsboro - Located in PA's Tioga County, Wellsboro has a little bit of something for everyone. The town is close to Pine Creek Gorge, which is also known as Pennsylvania's Grand Canyon. Take some stellar family photos along the trail and enjoy a picturesque picnic lunch. Downtown Wellsboro is home to unique Victorian-style buildings, charming cafes and shops, and art galleries.
