Nebraska Is A Top State To Live In

Want to see corn power? If you’ve ever thought Nebraska was just where your GPS sends you when it wants some alone time, think again - the Cornhusker State was recently named one of the best states in the entire country by US News and World Report. The rest of America might be figuring out what Nebraskans already know: this is peak living!

Here are Five Fast Facts on Nebraska's awesomeness:

  1. 🔍 How They Got There - Since 2017, US News has been analyzing thousands of data points for 71 different metrics across eight categories that Americans care about most. That's probably one heckuva spreadsheet!
  1. 🏆 Winning - We've been top 10 for almost all of those years, and 5th for the last two in a row. putting it firmly in the “maybe we should move there” category rather than “fly over country." #winning
  1. ⚡ Illustrious Infrastructure - The state crushed it hardest in infrastructure, ranking 3rd thanks to reliable energy grids, renewable power, solid roads, bridges that actually hold up, and commute times short enough to make coastal folks cry.
  1. 🤢 Not So Healthy - Healthcare was the biggest struggle, in 34th place, the lowest mark of the bunch, but strong showings elsewhere, like 8th in fiscal stability, 11th in education and the environment, and 14th in opportunity helped drive up the final score like the '95 Big Red.
  1. 💪 Inside Slant - The healthcare and education rankings carry the heaviest weights in the overall score, meaning those categories punch above their weight when deciding who’s best.

🔥Bottom line: So next time someone overlooks Nebraska because it lacks palm trees and ocean waves, just smile, invite them over for a fantastic steak, and ask them about their energy costs. Fifth best is basically first place with better manners, so the rest of the country can keep its chaos; we’ll just keep winning quietly. Nebraska proves that living in the Midwest is actually the ultimate power move.
