Nebraska’s Surprising Unemployment Rate

While the rest of the world is stressing about robots taking over their jobs, Nebraska is out here playing the best possible game of freeze tag with its economy. The state's unemployment rate stayed put for the second month in a row, proving that Nebraskans are either incredibly dedicated workers or they’ve all collectively agreed that changing things is just way too much work. Even the national unemployment rate is jealous, probably secretly wearing Cornhusker swag under the covers. Let's check out the goodness!

Here are Five Fast Facts on Nebraska's awesome unemployment rate:

  1. 👍 Killin' It - Nebraska’s unemployment rate for March was 3.1%, the same as in February and only 0.2% up from March 2025.
  1. 🏆 Winning Nationally - Nebraska's rate is way lower than the national average of 4.3% - it's actually the 7th best in the nation! #overachiever
  1. 🚧 Let's Build Stuff - The mining and construction sectors grew by over 2,500 jobs in one month (almost 3,700 since last year). Somewhere in Nebraska, a guy wearing a hard hat just nodded proudly while holding a giant gas station coffee.
  1. 🧑‍🎓⚕️A Better You - The private education and health sectors grew by over 3,600 jobs since last year, proving that a better you is also better for the economy!
  1. 🏨 Chill And Enjoy - The leisure and hospitality sector was red hot, adding almost 2,900 jobs in just the last month! Because who doesn't want more places to stay and order mozzarella sticks at 1am?

🔥Bottom line: In the end, it looks like Nebraska’s job market is more stable than a three-legged stool on a flat floor. With over a million people punching the clock and certain industries growing faster than weeds in a garden, the state is humming along quite nicely. While other places might be seeing their numbers jump around like popcorn in a microwave, Nebraska is keeping things calm, cool, and collected. So, if you’re looking for a place where the economy stays put and the jobs keep coming, it seems like the land of corn and huskers has everything under control.
