Not To Brag Or Anything, But That’s Twice In A Row

Washington state has once again pulled top honors for the “best state” in the country, per US News & World Report. (Have we ever mentioned that US News is our favorite news outlet?) There are a lot of factors considered, including the economy, education, and infrastructure, in all of which we got top 5 rankings.

Here are Five Fast Facts on why Washington state can drop the mic…again:

1. 💰The Economy - We have outstanding growth (2nd) and environment for businesses (3rd), and a strong employment outlook (14th). It’s like Oreos and milk - they just go together!
2. 🧑‍🎓Education - We ranked 2nd in higher education and 11th for K-12. Like fine wine, we get better (and smarter) with age!
3. 🛣️🌉Infrastructure - Energy (2nd) and Internet access (7th) lead the way, with transportation (commute time, road quality, and such) a reasonable 24th. Can’t be a high tech hub without power and bandwidth, right?
4. ⚕️💲Top 10s - We came in 6th for financial stability and 8th for health care, both of which are critical to long term prosperity and good living. 
5. 🌲The Rest - We were 15th for natural environment (WTF?!), 19th for crime, and 25th for “opportunity.” Fine, fine, whatever on the crime and opportunity, but we strongly dispute being that low for “natural environment!” We take care of our lovely Evergreen State!

🔥Bottom line: How does all this awesomeness affect Paychecks? Well, it all adds up to lots of (often) high-paying jobs for lots of people, and it means lots of other people want to keep coming here. That’s great, we say come on down and make us just a little bit better. With your help, we’ll be happy to drop the mic again next year.
