OH Construction Workers: See If Your Wages Stack Up

Ladies, if Love Island has you dreaming of a new fling, there’s no one better than a man in construction. 👷🏽‍♂️ They faithfully follow their plans and value building a strong foundation. Not your cup of tea? Try an electrician. ⚡ You know they always stay current!

If you’re a construction worker in Ohio, a new system just dropped that shows you if your pay is up to par. 👀💲 Keep reading for all the deets!

Here’s Five Fast Facts on Ohio’s new prevailing wage rate system:

  1. 🔍 Check Your Check - Late last month, the Ohio Department of Commerce Division of Industrial Compliance’s Bureau of Wage & Hour rolled out a brand new Prevailing Wage Rate system. Through it, Buckeye State’s construction workers can view wage information by occupation and jurisdiction to make sure they’re getting a proper paycheck.
  1. 🧰 High Standards - Any contractors working on publicly funded projects in Ohio must pay wages and benefits to their workers according to a set wage standard. In other words, they have to (at least) match the standard pay for work performed in the project’s geographic area. This new system will keep employees informed…and employers in check.
  1. ⚖️ The Set Up - Right now, it’s up to the Ohio Department of Commerce to set the prevailing wage rates. Depending on the specific trade and county, these wages can vary. Wanna nerd out on all the rules? Check out Ohio Revised Code Chapter 4115.
  1. 💻 Let Me Upgrade Ya - In addition to giving construction workers access to wage information, the new system is a much-needed upgrade to old processes. Before, checking wage information was clunky and involved a bunch of paperwork. Now, you can do it all quickly online.
  1. 💵 All Access - Curious about how your pay stacks up? To access Ohio’s prevailing wage rate info, you’ll need an OHID account (it’s free). Don’t have one? Head to this website for all the details on how to get set up.

🔥Bottom line: We love ourselves some government transparency. Bring it on! Now, if we can only track down the dog that ate our homework (and the Epstein list). While we’re talking about jobs and wages, America’s got a ton of factory jobs open. The problem is…they can’t fill them. Check out this article where we break it all down.
