If you’re in the Buckeye State, you might be curious to know how many vets call Ohio home. Here’s the demographic breakdown of brave service men and women keeping Americans free. 🤩
Here’s Five Fast Facts on Ohio’s vets:
- 🔍 Zooming In - The United States is home to an impressive 18.3 million hard-working veterans. According to the freshest data we have from the U.S. Department of Veterans, 681,106 of them live in Ohio (as of 9/30/23).
- 🌟 Star Service - How much of the Ohio population pie do veterans make up? Out of the Buckeye State’s total population of 11,785,935, vets account for 5.7%. How much pie do those veterans eat? TBD 🥧
- 🫡 Salute Your Stats - Let’s take a look at the demographic breakdown. When it comes to age, 48% of Ohio vets are 65 and older, 38% between 40 and 64, and almost 14% are under 40. Veteran ladies make up a small, but mighty 10%. You go, girls.
- 📚 History Trip - Wanna see a breakdown by periods of service? Say no more, fam. As of 2023, 261,404 served during the Gulf War Vietnam Era. Another 217,222 served in the Vietnam Era, 26,818 in the Korean Conflict, and 4,791 during WWII.
- 🔮 Future Figures - What does the future hold? Looking into our crystal ball, analysts predict Ohio’s veteran population will fall to roughly 409,834 by the year 2050 (a 40% decrease from our current numbers).
