Own a Small Biz in PA? Check Out These Resources

What’s so small about a small business? 🤨 Some of these peeps are out here making some pretty big moves! 💪 And in the USA, we should be all about helping the hometown heroes and little guys make it big. 🙆

Whether you’ve just taken the leap or have been in business for decades, it’s always the right time to look for support to help your company grow. 📈 That’s why we’ve rounded up some of the best resources for PA’s small businesses.

Here’s Five Fast Facts on small biz help in PA:

  1. 💰 Fall Into the GAP - Wanna sell more products? Check out the Department of Community and Economic Development’s Global Access Program (GAP). The GAP’s goal is to help PA small businesses up their export game. Back in the fall, the Shapiro administration started processing applications for a brand new round of funding to the tune of $800,000.
  2. 📦 Art Vandelay - If you’re an export-ready Pennsylvania company in good standing, the GAP will reimburse up to 75% of eligible expenses and provide up to $10K in assistance per year. Through the program you can take your marketing efforts to the next level and get money for things like trade shows, foreign market sales trips, shipping sample products, and more.
  1. 🚪 Opportunity Knocks - Another pro tip: buddy up with PA’s Department of General Services (DGS). The DGS offers all kinds of support for small businesses, like portals for public works contracting opportunities, resources for construction companies, and an eBidding platform.
  1. 📑 Make It Official - The DGS can also help you get officially certified as a small business, small diverse business, or veteran-business enterprise. When you’re certified, you’ll get better access to opportunities through the DGS, like training sessions and networking opportunities.
  1. 🤝 Meet & Greet - Feel like you’re on an island? Network at the next Small Business Empowerment Summit! Last year, over 400 small-business owners, government and nonprofit leaders, and procurement specialists attended. The next one’s happening sometime this fall (details TBD).

🔥Bottom line: Running a small business is no small feat! With all those hats you wear, it’s no wonder you’ve got migraines. Thankfully, these small biz resources are just what the doctor ordered.
