PA Farm Bill's Got Money for Farmer-Veterans

Did you know that many of our vets are hard-working farmers, too? 🧑‍🌾 And did you know there's money available for these fine folks within the PA Farm Bill? Now, that's a cause we can hog tie ourselves to! 🐖

PA Gov. Tom Wolf recently announced that the state's farmer-veterans can now apply for grants of up to $10,000. Let's hit the tractor and pop some wheelies. 🚜

Here’s Five Fast Facts on the new farm funding:

  1. 🥳 Brand New Gear - Grants up to $10K will be awarded for things like food safety planning, equipment, and marketing. Are neon, cow-shaped signs covered?
  2. 🚜 Farmer Vets Represent - The Keystone State is home to over 7,000 military veterans who also work as farmers.
  3. 💸 At Your Service - Through the PA Farm Bill, the Department of Agriculture has awarded $200,000 to two veterans’ service organizations. They'll be in charge of handing out the grants.
  4. 💰 Greenforge Has the Cash - One of the organizations is Greenforge, Inc from Greensburg (Westmoreland County). They have $100,000 to provide grants up to $10,000 to eligible veteran farmer applicants.
  5. 🧑‍🌾 Hit Up Community Partnership - The other organization is Community Partnership, in Butler (Butler County). They also have $100,000 to provide grants up to $10,000.

🔥Bottom line: If you're a PA farmer-veteran who could use a little extra cash in the barn, check out these opportunities! 👀 You can use the funds for that new equipment you've been eyeing up or funnel some cash towards a flashy marketing campaign. We've heard the general population is a sucker for cute farm animal videos.
