Pack Your Bags! PA's Tourism Industry Brings In Billions

From Philly to Pittsburgh and everywhere in between, Pennsylvania has sights for days. 🤠🧳And we're not just talking about greased up lamp posts on Super Bowl Sunday. YO! 🏈

Tourism brings in billions to PA and new stats on how the state did in 2021 show business is booming. 🤩

Here’s five stats on tourism's impact on Pennsylvania:

1. 🎒 Tourists Gonna Tour - According to a new report by the Pennsylvania Tourism Office, the state's tourism industry generated $66.3 billion in 2021. 

2. 🏨 Serving Vacay - Tourism supports 452,885 jobs in the Commonwealth. That's roughly one out of every 17 jobs statewide.

3. 💰 Add Tax - $4.2 billion in state and local taxes was generated from the tourism industry. He wasn't reached for comment, but we heard Uncle Sam did a happy dance.
   
   
4. 🧸 That's a Lot of Souvenirs - 2021 brought a $9.1 billion increase in direct visitor spending to PA's hotels, restaurants, shops, and other tourism related businesses.

5. 😍 We Heart PA - 180 million visitors vacay-ed in Pennsylvania in 2021. That's an increase of more than 28 million from 2020. The pandemic rained on many parades, but this is a nice upward trend now that we're back to normal.
