Roundup: Ohio’s New State Projects

If you’re in Florida, you might wake up to find a chunk of the International Space Station in your home. 😨🛰️ But if you’re in Ohio, you’ll be waking up to some brand spankin’ new jobs! 😅

The Ohio government just approved eight projects that will create 1,171 new jobs statewide and retain 3,635 more. 💼

These projects are to result in an estimated $101 million in new payroll. Cha-ching! 🤑 Let’s take a look at some of the highlights.

 

Here’s Five Fast Facts on Ohio’s new state projects:

  1. 🚛 Keep On Truckin’ - In Columbus, an expansion project at Quality Logistics is creating 50 new full-time jobs and $3.5 million in new annual paychecks. The company handles long-haul trucking of fresh, frozen, dry shipments, and live plants in temperature-controlled trailers. The expansion project also includes the leasing of 6,500 feet of additional space.  
  1. 🚘 Drive Me Crazy - Over in Northeastern Ohio, Schaeffler Transmission has a new location in Dover and is expanding their Wooster location. They design and manufacture drive train components and systems. The company’s growth is expected to create 650 full-time jobs and $54 million in new payroll. The project also includes a new production factory in Dover to support demand for electric vehicles.
  1. 🗃️ It’s an Insurance Thing - Also in the northeast, the James B Oswald Company out of Cleveland is adding 88 full-time positions at around $10.9 million in new yearly payroll. The company specializes in insurance, employee benefits, and retirement plan services. They’ll also be setting up shop in a new office space in downtown Cleveland.
  1. 🏠  Bob the Builder - Down in the southeastern region of the state, Holmes Siding Contractors is creating 60 new full-time jobs and $5.9 million in new paychecks. They’re expanding their Millersburg and Newark locations and adding a new one in Killbuck Township. The company manufactures and sells aluminum building products used across the U.S.A.
  1. 🧑‍🔧 Love A Man in Uniform - In Mason, Cintas Corporate Services is planning on filling 125 new full-time positions and generating $12.5 million in new annual payroll. Cintas is a uniform manufacturing giant and they also design and manufacture supplies, promotional products, and provide document management services. Their expansion project also includes a makeover of their company HQ.
