State Approves New Projects That Create 3,600 Jobs

The State Building Commission just greenlit $306M in key projects. Our job market is turning into an episode of Oprah: Everyone gets a joooooooob!

Here’s Five Fast Facts about Wisconsin’s New Projects:

  1. 🦫Busy Busy - The projects include everything from Milwaukee’s Crime Lab to constructing new facilities for the DNR to renovating the HVAC System and UW-La Crosse. Sadly, nothing is earmarked for getting my neighbor Kevin to stop arguing with his mom at 3 a.m.
  2. 🪣Lucky 13 - The projects will benefit 13 counties including Dane, Eau Claire, Kenosha, La Crosse, Lincoln, Marathon, Milwaukee, Monroe, Pierce, Washburn, Waupaca and Winnebago.
  3. 🎡Job Fair - When all is said and done, the projects will create an estimated $553M in economic activity, creating 3,600 jobs.
  4. 📈Upward and Onward - This kind of job creation continues a strong upward trend for the state, with a total of 45,100 non-farm related jobs added this year alone. That keeps our unemployment rate at a staggeringly low 2.9%.
  5. 🤷When and Where? - Details on job requirements, pay, and hiring dates have not been announced. But don’t worry. The state will certainly make a lot of noise about it, similar to Kevin and his mom arguing.

🔥Bottom line: With numbers like this, it’s pretty clear our economy is steadily recovering from the pandemic. There’s a lot of terrible news around these days, but this is fantastic stuff and a sign of just how strong America’s Dairyland truly is.
