Technology is all around us, all the time, everywhere. If you’ve been thinking about taking a break from tech for a bit, then we’ve got a great opportunity for you!
Here are Five Fast Facts about Reviews.org’s Digital Detox:
- 💻📱What’s The Deal? Reviews.org is looking for someone willing to endure a 24-hour digital detox at a rate of $100 per hour! This means no phone, tablet, computer, gaming console, or TV, as well as no smart devices like watches or home automation tools. Bye bye, Alexa!
- 🍲What’s Allowed? You are allowed to use a microwave to cook food, and there are exceptions for emergency uses of phones. But no, checking IG doesn’t count as an emergency (though checking Paycheckology’s IG is close…)!
- 📝What’s Required? You’ll need to document your detox with a screen time report and a review telling Reviews.org how wonderful/awful it was, what challenges you had, and what benefits (if any) you got. They’d also like to know if you’re planning to reduce your tech time after the detox is over. But rest easy, you’re not obligated to follow through.
- 🚲🎨What Do You Get? If selected, you’ll get a $250 Amazon gift card for non-tech “survival” supplies during the 24-hour detox period. This could be things like board games, books, art supplies, and pretty much anything else that isn’t tech or a screen. You’ll get the $2,400 at the end of the detox period. I bet they’ll send it digitally. Oh the irony!
- 👍How To Sign Up? To enter, you have to be 18+, and you must apply by Sept. 21 at 7pm EST. There are a few questions about your tech addiction level and why you want to do the detox. The selected Detoxer will be announced on Reviews.org’s YouTube channel on Sept. 30. Better get that application in soon!
🔥Bottom line: Most of us could probably do with a bit less screen time. This detox challenge presents a fun opportunity to make a terrific Paycheck while doing it. Given that it’s only 24 hours, it’s both manageable and a fabulous upgrade on Lent!
Could you survive this detox challenge? Are you going to enter?
