When Living Paycheck-To-Paycheck Is An Upgrade

Imagine living so tight that drawing even a tiny paycheck feels like winning the lottery. That’s the reality for many hourly workers today. According to a new survey: a lot of folks say that actually living paycheck to paycheck would be an upgrade to their current financial mess! Hold onto your wallets, folks...it's about to get real.

Here are Five Fast Facts on being worse off than paycheck to paycheck:

  1. 😖 Major Problemo - Almost four out of 10 workers think living paycheck to paycheck would be an upgrade from how things are for them now. Sad but true.
  1. 💸 Bouncing Checks - Nearly half (44%) of those surveyed have gotten an overdraft in the last month. Their bank accounts basically laughed and said, “Overdraft? Let’s party!”
  1. 🏦 Bank Bits - Around 38% have less than $1000 in their bank accounts. That's less than the price of a new iPad - and they’re trying to live on it. Yikes!
  1. 🙏 Begging And Borrowing - Almost a third (28%) have had to borrow money from friends or family in order to get by. But who do they borrow from…?
  1. 💰 On-Demand Pay Is A Win - Most hourly workers (78%) say being paid faster -- like weekly or daily -- would actually help them pay their bills. Instant money is apparently a game changer. Go figure!

🔥Bottom line: So when is living paycheck to paycheck a good thing? Right now, apparently, because it's actually an improvement for too many people! People are living on borrowed time...and money. The solution? On-demand pay, better budgeting, or maybe winning the lottery. Until then, paycheck to paycheck is looking like the silver lining everyone’s rooting for.
