New Fiserv HQ Lands in Milwaukee Dangles Jobs

Have you heard? Fiserv is setting up a new global HQ in Milwaukee! That’s huge. Even huge-er? Hundreds of new jobs!

Here’s Five Fast Facts on the new Fiserv HQ:

  1. 🏦 What’s a Fiserv? - Fiserv offers payment and financial services solutions for banks, credit unions, insurance companies, mortgage brokers, and many other industries.
  2. 🏢Where Are They Going? - They’re moving from their current location in Brookfield to the old Boston Store building on Wisconsin Ave. in downtown Milwaukee.
  3. 🍺 Why Milwaukee? - Most likely due to the subsidy the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation offered. The actual amount is currently undisclosed. We do know the subsidy is contingent on those jobs and that’s a good thing.
  4. 🏗️ So, Jobs? - Fiserv has promised 250 jobs, which is a requirement of the subsidy. Fiserv said it’s expecting to create more than 800 jobs over the next five years. That’s a pretty big goal, especially when you consider we already have more job openings than available workers and record-low unemployment.
  5. 📅 When is This Going Down? - Sometime in 2023. That’s like a contractor telling you the job will take two weeks. They offered no timetable on when they’ll start hiring.

🔥Bottom line: Yay commerce! It’s quite astonishing that we continue to see employers investing in the state, creating new jobs and tax income. It’s not a bad thing, but you have to wonder when the wheels are going to come off when there’s no one left to hire.

Is this move good for Fiserv?
