So you finally landed that comfy-cozy couch job. How’s the salary treating you? 🧐💰
Working from home has its perks…mainly, getting to spend the day pantless (just don’t stand up during a Zoom call). 🤭 However, a new survey shows that many Americans would give up their remote gig in exchange for more moolah.
Here’s Five Fast Facts on heading to the office for more cash:
- 🏢 Cute Commute - Remote work was hot during the pandemic, but now the trend is cooling down. More companies want their employees back in the office. Some are offering bigger paychecks as an incentive…and it’s working. According to a new survey, 66% of workers surveyed said they’d head back to the office full time for more money.
- 💵 Higher Standards - But…here’s the twist. Roughly 60% of those surveyed said they’d have to get a raise of at least 10% to make it worthwhile. Additionally, 90% of respondents said they have the confidence to negotiate their salary, but some weren’t sure how to back up their ask.
- 👷🏽♂️ By Popular Demand - On the hiring manager side, roughly half of those surveyed reported adding new perks to draw in new hires this year. Around 74% believe that a potential employee’s salary and work-life balance expectations are super important (a good sign).
- 👍 Beyond the Buck - Aside from regular salaries, what perks do workers want the most from their employers? Here’s the roundup: non-base pay financial incentives (53%), other work-life balance perks (51%), and retirement planning (42%).
- 💼 Prime Time - The fact that more Americans would trade their PJs for office slacks is music to guys like Jeff Bezos' ears. Over the past year, big companies like Amazon, Intel, Uber, Ford, and JP Morgan all kicked up their return-to-office policies.
🔥Bottom line: Hey, we hate getting off the couch for literally anything. But…if you’re gonna boost our paychecks, we’re listening. From getting a new job to starting up a side hustle, your success has a lot to do with your mindset. What’s going on in your noggin can influence your finances, too.
